Easter is just around the corner and based on last year’s blog post you already know that we skip the candy. So what do we put in the baskets instead? Here’s a run down of our favorite Easter gifts for kids this year. Everything from apparel to candy that’s actually good for you (yep, you heard me right).
I’m not into buying a new basket each year. That seems wasteful and unnecessary. Instead I prefer to invest a little more money into a basket that can be reused each year. This also creates a new tradition. Each year on the eve of Easter, the kids help me prep the baskets. They add the grass and pick a special place for the Easter bunny to find them, usually in a central location within the house. These baskets by Shay Made are perfect in every way. Sewn with cotton rope and the thread color of your choice, the 4.5”x5” basket is the perfect size for little hands.
My kids love the water and even though we currently live in a place where it is summer year round, we typically use Easter as a kickoff to summer and an excuse to buy new beach gear like Splash Swim Goggles. Designed by a mom (woot, woot!) these goggles differ from standard ones by using a wide band that easily and comfortably stretches to fit you or your child. No more pulled hair, no more wasted time fixing goggles, no more broken straps. We got the sharks design for him and the flamingos for her but they have a ton of other adorable designs!
Boo Boo Bags
Kids get hurt. A lot. Our solution for that is to always have a cold “ice pack” in the freezer. But unlike traditional ice packs Whiffy Bean Bags don’t have all of the drippy, wet mess. Filled with flax seeds, the bags conform to the body and can be used both cold or hot. Each bag also has real dried herbs mixed with the flax seed, providing a little aromatherapy in scents like lavender, peppermint or chamomile.
Cheers to the Easter Bunny for including these adorable bunny ear acrylic cups and beautifully etched glass mason jars by Morning Fog Studios in the kids Easter baskets! They are the perfect addition and make excellent gifts, too!
Our favorite toys are ones that encourage open-ended play and these ribbon wands by Mouse Loves Pig fit that bill perfectly. Made with organic maple wood and silky ribbon, they encourage imaginative play with endless possibilities and come in a variety of colors. Use code A-PAIGES for 15% off your order.
I haven’t really figured out why but my kids are obsessed with stuffed animals so I always add a small one to the basket. These llamas are also by Not A Box Creations and are super, super cuddly thanks to all of that faux fur. They come in a rage of sizes so you can pick big or teeny weeny.
Junkless Granola Bars
Want to add a little treat to the basket? The team over at Junkless Granola Bars are committed to providing your family with better snacks by skipping all the unnecessary filler and fake stuff and sticking to real ingredients instead. That means no hydrogenated oils, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors, no artificial colors, no preservations. No junk. Our favorites are the the chocolate chip (pictured) and real strawberry granola bars, but they also come in cinnamon roll (yum!) and peanut butter chocolate chip. Want to try one of each? Find an assorted pack here.
Feeling like you need to add a little sweetness to the baskets? We understand. Thanks to Zollipops you can give the sweet without the guilt. Made with Xylitol, Erythritol, Stevia and other natural ingredients, Zollipops, Zolli Drops and Zaffi Taffy are actually good for your teeth! So throw them in the baskets, hide them in those plastic eggs and let your kids enjoy.
Not a bad haul if I say so myself! What will you be adding to Easter baskets this year?
